Position: Head Coach Men’s USA National Team

Location: United States; remote, with travel for camps, tournaments, and international competition 

Commitment: Volunteer leadership role with national program responsibilities

About the Role

The USAFL International Program is seeking a Head Coach to lead our men’s national team, the USA Revolution. This is a pivotal leadership position responsible for guiding athletes, assistant coaches, and support staff toward success on the international stage.

The Head Coach will report to the Head of Football and work closely with the Head of Operations and the IP Lead to align activities with the IP’s high-performance standards, player-first culture, and community-driven values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the national team’s coaching staff and athletes in preparation for international competition.
  • Coach the national team during all matches, providing leadership, tactical adjustments, and real‑time decision‑making.
  • Develop and implement training programs, game strategies, and performance analysis.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and athlete-focused team culture.
  • Work with the Head of Football and Shared Services to ensure coaching is resourced and aligned with the IP’s strategy and Shared Services’ activities.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Operations to keep administrative, logistical, and compliance functions executing smoothly.
  • Pursue continuous professional growth in coaching education, accreditations, and best practices in athlete development and performance.
  • Mentor assistant coaches, encouraging education and accreditation to foster growth and support succession planning.
  • Contribute to player development by providing clarity, structure, and opportunities for growth.
  • Represent the USAFL International Program with professionalism and integrity.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated coaching experience at elite, national, or high-level club competition.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and execution skills.
  • Commitment to athlete wellbeing, inclusivity, and volunteer-friendly systems.
  • Ability to collaborate across domains and work within a volunteer-driven environment.
  • AFL coaching accreditation strongly preferred. 
  • Prior USAFL head coaching experience preferred.
  • Prior Team USA coaching experience welcome.
