The Iowa Roosters were seeded by USFooty club the Orange County Bombers. In 2009 two OC members & brothers, Tyler and Wes Kamerman, returned to their home state of Iowa packed with their passion for Aussie Rules and were compelled to start a local club in capital city Des Moines. The club’s first match was against the Kansas City Power (est.1997) where the players wore make shift guernseys with spray painted numbers while their newly designed match kits. At the 2009 USFooty Nationals in Mason, Ohio, first-year team the Des Moines Roosters played in their new kits as a combined team with Orange County Bomber’s second side. DMRAFC culture has grown robust and they pride themselves in the club community they have built. Over the years DMRAFC has sided a women’s team and organized youth development clinics. This club is committed to the development and growth of Aussie Rules in their city, the midwest, and this nation. ‘We are the might Roosters!”
