With over 100,000 people packing the Melbourne Cricket Ground and millions more watching across Australia and around the world, the AFL men’s Grand Final is the biggest sporting event on the Aussie calendar.
From a journey that started in March with eighteen teams, the final two will battle it on the last Saturday in September, as they have every year since 1898. The pomp and pathos that is a holiday in Melbourne will culminate, for one team, in being crowned premiers of the AFL for season 2025.
In the final game of the season, it’ll be an all feline battle, as the Geelong Cats tangle with the Brisbane Lions. Since 2000, each club has been in seven grand finals and won five. Something’s gotta give. The Cats were founded in 1859, while the Lions’ heritage goes back to 1883 when they were in the Melbourne suburb of Fitzroy. This will be the first time the two clubs have squared off in the league decider.
This year, as in the past, many USAFL clubs will be hosting live! (or almost live!) viewing parties dedicated to the big match. Many of the USAFL clubs below use the Grand Final to fundraise for their trip to Nationals, and each party will be offering everything from Aussie delectables to giveaways to fun and games and music in the lead-up to the final showdown. So whether you’re a local footy fan or an Australian just passing through the USA on holiday, come out and support your local USAFL club with fellow fans such as yourself and make some new mates in the process!
Below is a listing of USAFL hosted watch parties across the USA listed in alphabetical order by host city. The list will be constantly updated up until the day of the big game, so keep checking back.

The AFL Grand Final is scheduled for 12:30am EDT on Saturday, September 27th (9:30pm PDT on Friday, September 26th). Unless noted, all parties will begin on Friday, September 26th.
Some parties require tickets to be purchased ahead of time due to limited capacity, and some have specific venue guidelines (age limit, alcohol cutoff times, etc). Be sure to check your party’s event page and/or message the host club with any questions.
Can’t make it out? The AFL Grand Final will be available on WatchAFL, who will carry the pregame festivities starting at 10:30pm EDT. Fox Sports 1 will begin coverage right before the game at around 12:24am.
